FORT MITCHELL

Fort Mitchell is a city steeped in history and brimming with modern amenities.

Better Blend

Just four miles south of Cincinnati is Fort Mitchell, one of seven Civil War fortifications built to protect Cincinnati. Named for Union General Ormsby Mitchel, the city became official in 1910, albeit with an extra “L” added to Mitchell. With just over 8,000 residents, Fort Mitchell offers an appealing blend of small-town charm and big-city access.

Take Better Blend Fort Mitchell, for example, their location feels like it’s always been part of the community. Better Blend is committed to wellness, and its brightly colored interior even feels good for you, like a visual mood booster. Better Blend features an appetizing variety of smoothies, with options for every palate and diet.

Try an Original Blend smoothie, like the creamy Banana Pudding or the punchy Apple Jacks. You can order a meal size option, at 24 ounces, or snack size, at 16 ounces. The Pineapple Dole Whip is like the classic ice cream only better, because it’s sippable through a straw, meaning no mess at the end. Oh, and the Cherry Cordial tastes like a decadent dessert without the calories.

If you need a caffeine jolt, you can try one of the Barista Blend options. The Java Chip is the ultimate classic coffee-and-chocolate smoothie offering, and Better Blend’s take on this favorite is a winning one. Strip away all the extras and get back to the basics with a Basic Blend, like the antioxidant champ Green Goddess. If you want to use a spoon, you can get one of the Bowls – the Super Bowl features acai, the OG smoothie bowl ingredient. The Bulk Blends help you reach your daily protein and gains goals. There are a variety of Boosters you can add to any blend to help reach whatever nutritional goal you’re after – from creatine to collagen and more.

If you need a different kind of food option, there are a ton to choose from in Fort Mitchell. You could start with ethnic cuisine choices, like Italian favorite Camporosso. Grab one of their famous wood-fired pizzas and pair it with a bottle of something tasty from their extensive wine selection. Formerly a 1920s service and gas station, Camporosso also offers pastas (including gluten-free options) and salads. Oriental Wok’s Fort Mitchell location serves up reliably delicious Chinese fare, as does Asian Place Chinese, and Soco’s Mexican has all the tasty Mexican standbys your heart could desire. Swing by the Greyhound Tavern, originally the Dixie Tea Room, for comforting American classics, or try the brunch buffet on Sunday mornings. Grandview Tavern has an excellent patio for dining, great happy hour options, and elevated classics like the roasted Australian lamb chops with rosemary sauce. The Fort Mitchell Public House is self-described as having pub fare with a Cajun flair. Behle Street by Sheli is a good bet for lunch or dinner, with options like flatbread pizzas and filling appetizers like the vegetarian quesadilla.

Or maybe you’re visiting Fort Mitchell and in the mood for a beverage. Get to the Braxton Barrel House to try one of their own brewed options or choose from their selection of bourbon. Get dinner from the Taco Fuerte taco truck outside. The Ft. Mitchell Sports Bar has the kind of Cheers vibes every bar aspires to have, with friendly service, lots of regulars, drink specials and pool tables. BRU Burger Bar has burgers and great cocktails.

Beyond eating and drinking, there are excellent options for living and playing in Fort Mitchell, too. Check out the Market of Fort Mitchell, a charming farmer’s market with all kinds of fresh local produce, meats, jams, and more. Joey & June Boutique has the cutest clothes for kids – you can even get tiny Joe Burrow shirts for the Bengals-loving tots in your life. Cut It UP Hair & Nail Salon will keep you looking fresh. The Vent Haven Museum is the world’s only museum dedicated to the art of ventriloquism and related memorabilia, with over 1,000 ventriloquist figures from 20 countries. The General Ormsby Mitchel Park commemorates the city’s namesake, and features a beautiful pavilion you can reserve for your event and many free events, like yoga and presentations by the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and Madcap Puppets.

Steeped in Civil War history and brimming with modern amenities, Fort Mitchell offers plenty to discover for residents and visitors alike.
